2010 Calendar!

Wed Oct 14, 2009, 7:59 PM
Every year I always make a calendar with my artwork ~ started out as just a gift for family, then expanded to friends ~ each year the list got longer! So, last year I had DeviantArt make my calendars (I use to make them myself, print, bind, everything~ I was nuts) and they turned out GREAT! So I'm using Dev again! And I just got my 2010 calendar up for sale!

I will be getting some calendars myself, and anyone who wants to buy one directly from me, I will personally sign. So if you are interested, send me a note! I'll be selling mine for $20 plus $2 for shipping.

And commissions~ I'm still pondering doing them, wrapping up some projects for this month~ so those of you who expressed interest, I'll be contacting you and/or putting up info for styles and prices later this month. :)

Which..."later this month" isn't that far away...I mean geez...tomorrow is the 15th! Aye!! Where has this year gone!?!?!

Facebook, Etsy, and Commissions

Wed Oct 7, 2009, 5:51 PM
So, I decided to create a Group on Facebook for my artwork~ Samantha Nowak Illustrations. Anyone who is on Facebook and would like to join my group~ please do!

Group: [link]

And if you want to Friend me on Facebook, you can do that too! Just say you are from DeviantArt in the little note thing you can send with the Friend Request, so I know where you are coming from. ^^

Aaaand, I decided to join Etsy. Seemed like a friendly enough place to start out at! So, though you can order things through my personal website (personal website link: [link] ) if you are more comfortable ordering off of Etsy, you can now do that too!

My Etsy page: [link]

And, I'm thinking of taking commissions...pencil sketches (example: [link]), CG colored pictures (normal style: [link] and/or Art Nouveau style: [link])... who would be interested in getting a commission from me like this?

More RenFest and... Gargoyles!

Fri Sep 25, 2009, 4:13 PM
So, today I met with the Crafts Coordinator of the RenFest and got myself another weekend for this season! Whoot! It's in a different space, slightly smaller (which isn't a bad thing) and on the main street (so traffic should be a lot better). Sunday mom and I are going to go to the RenFest and check out the space, so I can get an idea of how I want to set it up. I got weekend #5 (October 3rd and 4th), which is Scottish weekend (Kilts oh my!)~ which I have been told by my in-laws is a very popular weekend.

So, if anyone is passing through the KC area~ check me out at the RenFest! Booth 266 this time. ^^ Still fairly close to the Main Gate entrance.

And, in other news~ I am a Disney Gargoyles fan. I LOVE the show so much (a Disney cartoon that ran from 1994 to 1996, but I don't count the 3rd season because the creator left the show and well...it went downhill from there). A comic came out that started off where season 2 began, ran for a year...and now it's stopped. U.U It's ran through Slave Labor Graphics (website: [link]). I just got Clan Building Volume 2 in the mail yesterday and read it. And I am SO SAD it ended! They FINALLY got some good artists who could draw WOMEN and EMOTIONS and it ends... And they teased us with Brooklyn's Time Dancer series at the end and cut us off just when we get introduced to Brooklyn's family. ::falls over::

That's my Gargoyles rant... if you like mythology/Shakespeare/Authurian legend~ you NEED to investigate Gargoyles. It has it all. YouTube the first 5 episodes (Awakening Parts 1 thru 5), you'll be hooked.

Ebay, Etsy - Experience selling on these?

Thu Sep 24, 2009, 5:26 PM
So, it's been suggested to me that I try selling my artwork and Enchanted Names on sites like Ebay or Etsy. I have my personal website, however the traffic flow at these sites is mega butt loads higher, and would help my name get out there more~ in theory.

Has anyone sold their artwork through either of these sites? Pros/cons of either?

KC RenFest - Pictures and more!

Tue Sep 15, 2009, 8:44 AM
Well, I survived my first week as a vendor at the RenFest! It was definitely a learning experience. All my neighboring vendors came over to visit from time to time and once I told them it was my first time here and that I wanted to have a permenant booth~ they were all VERY nice and giving me ALL sorts of tips and tricks. The Crafts Coordinator came by and checked out my store on Saturday and loved what she saw. She said she may have another store open for me later in the season, so right now I am waiting to hear about that. ^_^

I joined in the dancing after I took these pieces. It was a lot of fun~ Joe and I want to go back and just cruise RenFest for the entire day, since there is a lot of stuff we have not checked out in our previous trips there.
